Elon Musk Says He Won’t Sell Any Dogecoin — Admits He’s the Ultimate HODLer

Much to the delight of Dogecoin fans everywhere, one of the biggest names in the crypto world has just made a Dogecoin (DOGE) related announcement. As people who follow the crypto markets are no doubt aware, Tesla founder Elon Musk has been a huge supporter of Dogecoin for a long time. In fact, back in February, Musk made headlines when he announced that he would give away DOGE to anyone who sent him a funny tweet. A few days later, Musk actually went live on Twitter and sent DOGE to several lucky winners.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has just announced that he won’t be selling any of his Dogecoin. In a recent tweet, Musk said he is now the “ultimate hodler” of the cryptocurrency. He added that he wasn’t sure whether people would “make fun of me for this” — but he didn’t care.

Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of SpaceX, Tesla and PayPal, said on Twitter Saturday that he will not sell his Dogecoin.

“Dogecoin Hodler,” Musk tweeted, adding, “I am the ultimate dogecoin hodler.”

Musk’s tweet comes after a recent controversy with the cryptocurrency community regarding his Dogecoin holdings. Musk, who is also the founder of OpenAI, a nonprofit research company, said last month that he threw away his Dogecoin stored on a digital wallet (a kind of online bank account). Dogecoin’s price plummeted by more than 20 percent, according to CoinMarketCap.

However, he has been talking steadily about Dogecoin lately, referring to himself as Dogefather on several occasions, including his appearance on Saturday Night Live (SNL) on the 8th. May.
